Function

(a). Provide skills development policy advice on issues pertinent to their sector.

(b). Specify sector skills requirements to mitigate imbalances between skills supply and demand.

(c). Liaise with curriculum developers to develop curriculum and learning materials.

(d). Develop occupational standards in liaison with curriculum developers to ensure that skill levels match job requirements.

(e). Provide sectoral labour market information to ensure that skills development is aligned to labour market trends.

(f). Liaise with assessment and qualification bodies to develop and review the education and training assessment and qualification system.

(g). Liaise with standards regulatory bodies to develop and implement the quality assurance system for education and training.

(h). Promote work based learning in its sector.

(i). Strengthen career guidance in education and training institutions; and employment agencies.

(j). Promote linkages between industry and education, training and research.

(k). Promote the establishment of Centers of Excellence.

(l). Promote the creation of decent and high productive wage jobs in their sectors.
